Social media is blowing up with climate change chatter. And it’s all due to an article in New York magazine.
So, wanted to share this with you.
1) Article in the New York Magazine is released.
2) Scientists react and say that the article is too much/doomist: Not just Michael Mann — many climate scientists.
3) Vox/Slate respond and say no, it’s what we need to hear.
4) From a distance: It’s all about framing the issue… and for optimal engagement we’ve got to have a “positivity ratio” of 3:1 ratio of opportunities to threats…
ANDDDDD — An article comes out challenging our notions of Capitalism and acknowledging it’s role in global problems we’re experiencing now.
In the SAME WEEK, An iceberg the size of Delaware calves off into the ocean….
Are we waking up? Are we making folks too scared to act? Must we face and feel the alarm in order to understand the magnitude of our changing climate?
